Many machines and commercial devices already have an Android terminal or computer inside the equipment. The problem is that the built-in camera is often in the wrong position—or cannot be exposed outside the enclosure.

UC-533 separates the camera viewpoint from the host.

The compact camera head can be installed at the required viewing position while the Android device, PC and USB connection remain protected inside the equipment.

1. The Host Cannot Be Placed Where the Camera Needs to See
A tablet, PC or embedded terminal may need to remain inside the equipment while the actual viewing point is outside or in another position.
UC-533 moves only the camera to the required location.

2. A Bare USB Camera Is Too Exposed
An exposed PCB camera is not suitable where the camera may encounter rain, moisture or dust.
UC-533 uses a compact IP67 camera head for better protection at the camera position.

3. A Standard Webcam Is Too Large
Consumer webcams are designed around monitors and desktops, not compact equipment installation.
UC-533 provides a much smaller external camera head for integration into commercial and industrial equipment.

UC-533 is a standard external USB camera rather than a standalone recording system.

For Android use, the host should support:

Compatibility depends on the actual Android device and application.

Not every Android phone or tablet supports external UVC cameras.

For PC or embedded equipment, the host software must also support the camera's USB video input.

Recording, streaming, networking, remote assistance and other software functions depend on the customer's host device and application.

IP67 Camera Protection
The UC-533 camera head is IP67 protected for applications involving rain, moisture and dust.
However, the complete USB system should not automatically be considered IP67.
The USB connector and host should normally remain in a protected location, and the equipment manufacturer is responsible for properly sealing the cable entry into its enclosure.
IP67 Does Not Mean IP69K
UC-533 is not intended for high-pressure washdown, steam cleaning or other environments requiring IP69K protection.

1. Why would I use UC-533 instead of the camera built into my Android tablet?
The built-in camera stays wherever the tablet is positioned and usually faces a fixed direction.
UC-533 allows you to move the camera viewpoint away from the Android device and place it where the actual view is needed.
This is useful for equipment, kiosks and inspection applications where the host and camera need to be in different positions.

2. Will UC-533 work with my Android phone or tablet?
It depends on the exact device.
Your Android host must support USB OTG / USB Host and external UVC cameras, and you need an application capable of displaying UVC video.
Some Android devices or applications do not support external USB cameras.
We therefore recommend confirming compatibility with the actual device and app you plan to use.

3. Do I need a special driver for the UC-533?
UC-533 uses the USB UVC video interface.
A compatible UVC host normally recognizes the camera through its standard USB video support.
However, actual operation still depends on the host operating system, USB support and application.

4. Is the complete UC-533 cable and USB connector waterproof?
Do not assume that the complete USB connection is waterproof simply because the camera head is IP67.
The camera head is the protected part.
The USB connector should normally remain inside a protected enclosure or other dry location. The cable entry into the customer's equipment must also be properly sealed.

5. Can I leave the UC-533 camera outside in rain?
The IP67 camera head is intended to provide protection against rain, moisture and dust within its rated environmental conditions.
However, the complete installation—including cable entry and USB connection—must also be designed correctly.

6. Is the 160° lens suitable for reading small text or distant objects?
Usually not.
The 160° lens is designed to capture a very wide scene, especially at relatively short distances.
A wider field of view means distant or small objects occupy fewer pixels in the image.
If your application requires detailed viewing of a small distant target, a narrow-angle camera would be more appropriate.
